  • When should I place my deposit for this trip?

I recommend placing your $400 deposit to secure your space on this trip as soon as possible as this intimate retreat is limited to 8 participants. Contact me to book your reservation: [email protected]

  • Where is the Komaneka Raya Sayang Resort and how and when do I get there?

You can fly to Denpasar International Airport (DPS). The airport is located about 60-90 minutes from our hotel in the center of Ubud, depending on traffic. You can arrive September 29, although we recommend arriving one day before, on September 28. If you wish to extend your stay outside of the retreat dates, we can help book extra nights’ accommodation. If you arrive earlier than the 3pm check-in time, you are welcome to explore the pool area in our tropical forest. The hotel staff will hold your bags in a secure place while you rest by the pool or explore the tranquil streets of Ubud. You can then get settled before we enjoy our first welcome dinner together that evening. Allow yourself to rest, work through the jet lag and experience the peace and harmony this special place has to offer us before diving into an incredible week of healing, exploring, connection and community. We ask that as soon as you book your flights to email your flight schedule to [email protected] so that we can help plan for a smooth arrival process.

  • Do I need to book my own flight to Bali? What flights do I purchase?

You are responsible for booking your own flight. Please contact us before purchasing flights if you would like to share your schedule/plans and as always, travel insurance is strongly recommended. If you would like some help with flight recommendations, we are happy to assist you. We are not responsible for any change in scheduled flights.

  • Do I need vaccinations to travel to Bali?

Currently, vaccinations for travel to Bali are no longer required. We suggest you always review the CDC guidelines as many of the expectations for travel can change.

  • How many people are expected on this retreat?

  • Are airport transfers included in the price of my trip?

Since most participants will be arriving from a different location at various times it is easiest for you to book a taxi upon your arrival at the airport. The taxi fee varies between $20-$30 US depending on traffic. It is very easy as there are many taxis waiting. I am also happy to share our personal driver’s contact information with you if you wish to pre-arrange your transfer.

If for some reason we are not able to match you with a roommate, a single supplement will apply to enjoy your own private room. The single supplement fee is listed in the Pricing section of this page.

  • Do I need Travel Insurance?

The purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended to ensure you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels. These events are rare but do occur and underscore the importance of being covered by travel insurance. Should you elect to not purchase travel insurance, you will be assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellations or trip interruption. There is a broad spectrum of policies and options so be sure you are clear on what exactly is covered.

  • Are meals included?

All breakfasts are included, and we will enjoy a fabulous made-to-order selection and a buffet every morning, which includes fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, toast, waffles, vegetables, rice, salads, fresh juices, coffee, and tea. Given all the amazing cafes and restaurants around Ubud, we do not include lunch and dinner, except for the Welcome Dinner and the Group Farewell Dinner. We have found that guests like to have options regarding where they eat. The options of places to eat are amazing and they are inexpensive, of high quality, and generally with some vegan and gluten free options, if needed. I will be happy to share some of our favorite restaurants and cafe recommendations. You will need to let us know if you have any allergies or specific food preferences (gluten free, dairy free, vegan…etc).

  • How often will we practice yoga/meditation?

We will practice various types of themed Yoga sessions daily, except for the free day, and the morning of departure for your flight back home. We encourage participants to take part in as many classes and excursions as they can but also invite each participant to take care of themselves even if that means taking a break and taking time alone. All classes are encouraged and optional. I will be teaching various types of yoga and meditation sessions as I incorporate the 4 elements (Earth, Water, Fire and Air) throughout the week.

  • Should I bring a yoga mat or any other props for classes?

All yoga props will be ready and waiting for you. I provide all the props needed, including yoga mats, blocks, and blankets.

  • Is there Internet access on property?

Yes. While we hope you’ll try and unplug and take some much-needed time offline, there is reliable high-speed Wi-fi access, at our hotels, at no additional cost. Wi-fi is also widely available for free at most restaurants in Bali.

  • What will the weather be like in October?

October is a great time of year to enjoy comfortable weather in Bali. The average temperature in October is 31C (88F) degrees during the day and 25 C (77F) degrees in the evening. Rain is infrequent, and it often lasts a short period of time and cools everything off.

  • What can you tell me about the transportation options available in Ubud?

Getting around Ubud is easy and inexpensive. From our hotel, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, cafes, walking trails, temples, and much more. The staff at the hotel are happy to arrange transportation if you wish to venture to more remote places on the island.

  • How do I exchange money?

It is recommended to have cash (IDR, Indonesian Rupiah) as some of the local shops do not accept credit cards. It’s handy to carry smaller bills for gratuities which are always appreciated. Remember to tell your bank and credit card companies the dates that you will be traveling. Using your debit card at the ATM’s is often the easiest way to get cash, and we have ATM's conveniently located near our hotels. Credit cards are also accepted in most restaurants. Mastercard and Visa seem to be the preferred credit cards accepted as we have noticed that many places do not accept American Express.

  • Is Bali safe?

Yes! The Balinese people are among the friendliest in the world! Bali is considered a safe destination for international travelers but as always, it is always important to be mindful of our surroundings, especially when visiting places that attract more tourists.

Absolutely! Everyone is welcome, from all levels of experience, backgrounds, and beliefs. Diversity helps make this retreat experience so special. Are you ready to explore and enjoy the experience of a lifetime? Are you ready to indulge in a well-deserved retreat of self-care and fun in a luxurious setting? Bali Retreat 2023

"If I had an ideal yoga teacher, Gisele is the one! Her authentic style of teaching is a harmonious balance of spontaneity, grace, and structure.

Gisele is a genuine soul who knows what it takes to accommodate all bodies and all levels. She creates spaces that allow students to feel comfortable exploring their bodies from the inside out with no judgement.

I am extremely grateful to have been able to attend her retreat in Bali. The food, the accommodations, the waterfalls, the healings from Bunda and Aji, I was in pure bliss and definitely left a piece of my heart in Bali."

Bali Retreat 2023

"Wow, my second retreat with Gisele – a Journey to Remember! This time, I had the privilege of experiencing it in the enchanting realm of Bali. A full week in Ubud Bali, and every moment was sheer magic.

We kicked off our adventure with a heartfelt blessing beside a breathtaking waterfall, wandered through lush rice field terraces, delved into the profound world of Balinese spirituality, and indulged our senses in a Balinese cooking class. Our shopping escapades added a dash of retail therapy, and we even partook in sound healing sessions within captivating pyramids.

Of course, the heart and soul of the retreat were the splendid yoga classes led by the ever-inspiring Gisele. Her guidance and presence made every pose a journey of self-discovery.

I can't praise Gisele enough for her transformational sessions and her unwavering support. Whether it was travel tips or recommendations for the perfect shopping spot, the perfect support was always just a question away.

If you're in search of a transformative retreat experience, look no further than Gisele's retreats. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a remarkable journey of self-discovery and relaxation!"

Bali Retreat 2023

"I thoroughly enjoyed my entire experience with Gisele in Bali. The Balinese people left a lasting impression as the warmest and happiest individuals I've ever encountered, savoring and cherishing every moment. Gisele's yoga classes were executed with incredible thoughtfulness, emanating her beautiful and kind energy. The class techniques unfolded as part of a transformative journey, particularly noteworthy as I had no prior yoga practice. Thanks to this enriching experience, I am sold on Gisele's restorative practices.

The hotel in Ubud was delightful, featuring spacious, comfortable, and immaculate rooms. The inviting pool became a frequent retreat during my downtime.

All our excursions were exceptional, making it difficult to pinpoint a favorite. The water purification at Beji Waterfall provided a profound experience, the Sound Healing at the Pyramid was truly incredible, the Rice Fields offered breathtaking vistas, and the cooking class was both enjoyable and highlighted the delectable Balinese cuisine. Each aspect of the journey amounted to a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I cannot express enough gratitude to Gisele for how profoundly this adventure touched me. I highly recommend taking a leap of faith and joining Gisele in 2024 for her next retreat.

Join me in Bali for an amazing cultural and spiritual experience in luxurious surroundings!

Let me share the sights, sounds and tastes of Bali with you.

I want you to feel confident, so reach out to me with your questions. I can't wait to experience this transformational retreat with you.
